Unless we stop it at the Governor’s desk, this bill will BAN the transfer, sale, and manufacture of commonly owned firearms that can accept a detachable magazine.

Stop the 2025 Colorado “Assault Weapons” Ban

A Petition to my State Representative, Senator, and Governor Jared Polis

WHEREAS: The Second Amendment of the U.S Constitution clearly states, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;” and

WHEREAS: Article II, Section 13 of the Colorado Constitution clearly states, “ The right of no person to keep and bear arms defense of his home, person and property…shall be called into question;” and

WHEREAS: Gun bans are a clear infringement of BOTH the U.S and Colorado Constitutions and have shown to have no effect on crime rates but rather turn countless peaceful gun owners into criminals for simply owning a firearm with features arbitrarily and falsely deemed as “dangerous;” and

WHEREAS: The United States Supreme Court’s recent Bruen Decision bars legislative bodies from imposing laws that do not fit within the text, history, and tradition of the Second Amendment; and

THEREFORE: I firmly urge you to OPPOSE the repackaged 2025 “Assault Weapons” Ban.
